Read the Scripture Here: John 9:13-34
I think it's o.k. to question things, I think we should. So many people have followed mentors blindly without thought of what it is they are following. I imagine the religious leaders had set up the rules they felt would best run the land. What I'm finding in my own experience with Government Politics is that most, if not all, of your leaders are no different from anyone else, they are looking for WIIFM. "What's in it for Me". I guess when choosing people to lead, we have to find out their true heart.
That's what I like about Jesus. The WIIFM in him was what's best for us. He has no self motive except to be the sacrifice for our sins and to teach us that we can live a Godly life. There was nothing in it for him because he has everything. It's all in it for us.
We should question our leaders, they are human, they have a motive and a drive. It is human nature to want the best for ourselves and if it benefits others great! Jesus doesn't have that same drive, he came to prove that he freely gives with nothing asked in return.
Jesus opens the eyes of the blind...and at some point in life, we have been or are blind.
