Did you know I don't stay angry anymore. I've mastered that.
Being hurt is real. It is intense and I don't know how others feel when they get hurt, but to me, it literally takes me weeks of simply trying to gain my identity back so I don't start to believe what people say or do to me. I bet most people don't even know they've hurt us in ways they have. I know I've hurt people without even knowing it. So how do you overcome it?
Some of my friends tell me I get hurt because I think too much. Some tell me it's because I have to just let it go, some say I'm just so emotional. Those really could be good answers. The truth is, I'm looking at what man says, and not what God says.
First off, you have to be accountable for your own actions. If your hand doesn't work over your mouth, perhaps, duct tape should. (o.k. don't really use duct tape it might tear your skin) but you get my point. We may have to work on discerning when we should and should not say something. Now listen, even if you say something and know it's right you may still hurt someone. GOD'S truth does something to your heart and to those that aren't ready for it, it might feel like you stabbed them. Your opinion is not truth.
Next, make sure that when someone says something to you, you pray and ask for discernment on whether it is truth or opinion. Ask God what he thinks about it. Then ask God to reveal how to become more Christlike in this area.
Don't beat yourself up. I know it's hard to find friends. The older I get, the worse it gets for me. I think I've nearly become a hermit, but you have to force your way into a good Church. That might take some time, so ask for God's directions. Make connections with people that are going in the direction you want to go. Listen to them, walk with them, open up to them when you are brave enough, and be prepared to be hurt a couple times, don't stop making those connections...work though it. These people will let you be you and they won't worry about you making mistakes. They will allow you to grow and to continue to grow. Your job is to not give up.
Work on not taking offense this week....I'm going through it with ya!
Thank God It's Friday!
Have Respect for God
The Teacher was wise. He gave knowledge to people. He put many proverbs to the test. He thought about them carefully. Then he wrote them down in order. He did his best to find just the right words. And what he wrote was honest and true.
The sayings of those who are wise move people to take action. Their collected sayings really nail things down. They are given to us by one Shepherd. My son, be careful not to pay attention to anything that is added to them.
Books will never stop being written. Too much studying makes people tired.
Everything has now been heard.
And here’s the final thing I want to say.
Have respect for God and obey his commandments.
That’s what everyone should do.
God will judge everything people do.
That includes everything they try to hide.
He’ll judge everything, whether it’s good or evil.
