That is so like you God, to ask us to forgive those who have wounded us so deeply. We struggle, Lord, with that forgiveness. We feel we need to hang on to that hurt. That hurt is our pacifier and we rely on it to build a wall to keep those that have immobilized us, at a distance, so they are not allowed to hurt us again.
I'm going to be honest and say that I don't know how to forgive some people. For some it comes easy and for some it comes harder, and some I just can't seem to do. I know that it is for a great purpose that you ask us to forgive, and with your help, I know I can achieve it.
I also know by now Lord, that what you ask is never for one, it is for all, so God, I would ask that you help us all learn how to forgive as you would want that to be. I ask that you erase all the human jargon of why we should and plant your seeds of forgiveness in our hearts. The seed that said, "Father, forgive them, they don't know what they are doing", as you hung on that cross and died for our sins. You rose again so that we would have your resurrection power in our blood and we could be redeemed.
In Jesus Name,
