Being positive doesn't mean you live a perfect life. Matter of fact, for me, it's a little bit of a crazy one. It's a little like Jekyll and Hyde. Actually it's a whole a lot of Jekyll and Hyde. I think being positive could be a gift, but for me it's a choice. I'm not naturally positive inside. I'm actually dreadfully the opposite.
I'm encouraging for you, because I know, first hand, the crazy thoughts that go on in a negative mind. I don't just throw out "fu fu", I pour out answers that I've sought God for. The "why me God" questions, the "help me God" answers, the "I'm not good enough" answers.
Being a Christian encourager, isn't like Hollywood. You don't have a flock of followers, at least not at first. You don't have people knocking down your door to be your friend. Most times when someone does attach to you, they leave within a short time. You can pour your heart out for months into someone only to start from scratch the next day. Many times when people aren't living for Christ, they will run as far as they can from you. Most people don't really like you, because you represent something to them that they don't understand yet, and for some it's a terrible thing to be exposed. Let me share that for an encourager like me, this can be devastating.
Do you have an encourager in your life? Be good to them. There's not many out there. Perhaps, like me, they CHOOSE to be encouraging, and it's not really a gift. Perhaps they've gone through some really tough things in their lives and they are choosing to see the good where hurt tried to prevail. Perhaps they don't have anyone behind them encouraging them, and everything they get they pour back into you. Perhaps they really do understand what you go through and know that you are amazingly worth so much more.
This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed. But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God.
I pray for those encouragers out there today. I pray that you would bind up hearts and give them boldness. Let them not rely on human encouragement, but receive your truth in their hearts. Give them a peace that surpasses all understanding. Give them joy, which can not be subdued. Thank you father for your eyes that see the good in all situations, and a heart that never stops beating for us. In Jesus name. Amen
