Sound familiar?
I'm going to tell you right now that if that is the dialog that is going in your head, you will have what you speak. I know because I've chosen that path with a lot of people in my life, and I wasn't being dramatic about the hurt it caused me. It does hurt, it did hurt and a lot of it still remains. There are still those that I have to force my brain not to repeat the above with some people even yet. Even those that I pray I never see ever again, but I'm sure that may be a prayer God won't answer.
Hatred gets no one anywhere.
Have you watched The Passion of Christ? What was His passion? Did you see what they did to him, how they talked to Him, how they spit in his face. Tortured beyond recognition. With spikes drove in each hand and in his feet, nailed to a cross and hung before those that hated Him.
Father, forgive them, they don't know what they are doing.
That's what Jesus said.
Because of forgiveness, we've been restored to love. Now I'm not suggesting that this process will be overnight, nor am I suggesting that this will be receptive by others. What I am suggesting is that you think about this. Think about your dialog in your head. Can you change it, to "Jesus, my heart is hurting over this situation. Please reveal to me the things I need to know about it. Please help me forgive the situation so it doesn't affect my life of the lives I interact with daily. Help me understand Your heart and teach me Your ways."
Find one person that you are " a little hurt by" and practice offering them forgiveness.
Start somewhere.
Break your hardened heart and learn to love again.
