These are the types of people I keep writing for. Writing is a hard thing. It's like opening up your diary and inviting strangers to judge your life, your thoughts, your emotions. I imagine, singing and acting are similar. Pretending to have people love you for what they see, but never actually seeing your heart. I think the process has two fold. A relational connection. When you pour your life out, you have to find a way to fill back up, and if not, you run on fumes, and we know you can't run on fumes very far. What's worth filling up your energy tank with?
I am going to be honest and say, I'd rather be around a bunch of what the world world full of "crazies" with a heart for Jesus, then around a "people that have it all together". I don't know how to relate to someone that has it all together. I feel like I will never measure up. Mostly because the Bible says that "we've all sinned, and fallen short of the glory". Matter of fact, the Bible says if you've broken one commandment, you've broken them all. Have you ever lied? Have you ever hated someone? Have you ever lusted after someone in your mind? Maybe just one of these things? Yeah, me too, that's why I still need a Savior, without Him, I don't stand a chance. Remember, break one, you break them all. God doesn't judge the size, He judges the sin. However, if you've accepted Jesus, and are living for Him, then God looks through Jesus to see you, Jesus is your God lens. If God looks at Jesus first, what do you suppose he sees?
What is the world looking for when it fills itself up with illegal drugs, alcohol, prescription drugs, sexual relationships, money? What do you get when you're finally too high, too drunk, or too rich? I think of people like Elvis, Marilyn, Curt, Heath.
There is a book in the Bible called Ecclesiastes. It was written by King Solomon, who was given the ability to be the wisest of all. Way beyond Stephen Hawkins. He had everything you could possibly ask for, want or desire. His final words were “Meaningless! Meaningless!” says the Teacher. “Everything is meaningless!” And his final advice was. Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the duty of all mankind. For God will bring every deed into judgment, including every hidden thing, whether it is good or evil.
Keep searching my friends for what is good, and only God is good. I'm walking with you, seeking the same.
