Read today's scripture here: John 14:15-31
The spirit of truth. We don't always want to know it do we? One time I was at a major sports stadium and I wanted to stop and read the rules. The person I was with said they didn't want to read it, because if they didn't know the rules, they didn't have to follow them.
We think like that don't we.
I think that's why many people don't read the Bible. They know that in them is God's truth and they don't want to hear it. The Bible points out truth, and the world hides it. As long as people can say they didn't know, then they think can't be held accountable. But if the book is there, and they have the ability to read it, yet refuse, does that hold water?
We can't plead ignorance to God's truth. It's everywhere. If we are willing to listen to someone, we are obeying someone's rules, even if they are our own. I understand we are living in Grace today, but what happens if tomorrow, we are accountable to God's judgment?
I'm not living in doom and gloom, but I'm not about to live in la la land either. We are in God's Grace and we should be thankful, not complacent.
The Spirit of truth has the ability to set you free. You may not like it at first, but it will become living water to you soon. It never hurt anyone to be restored back to God like it did Jesus. Restoration for you, is a lot easier.
