I was on the treadmill today and I was listening to "You Make Me Brave" by Bethel Church. The lyrics rang out:
As Your love, in wave after wave
Crashes over me, crashes over me
For You are for us
You are not against us
Champion of Heaven
You made a way for all to enter in
If you've been following my blog, you know that I received some unsettling news a few weeks back. It's through these troubling times in life that I am overwhelmed by the love of God. I know some times we get angry with God because bad things are allowed to happen for some reason, and it all ties in to a bigger picture that we all are trying to figure out. What I do know, is that regardless of if you are a Christian or not, bad things do happen to us all. It's what takes place during these times that overwhelms me. As I walked on the treadmill listening to those words of the song, I could feel the uncontrollable power and force as each wave of the love of God nearly knocked me off my feet. I began to sob. Not tears of pain or discouragement, but tears of love. How could this God of ours love me so very much. The answer is... I let Him.
The Bible does say that many are on the road to destruction. What does that mean? It means hell. Why? What is out there that is so much better than living a good life, or being forgiven, or starting over, or becoming new. Does evil seem that much better that we destroy ourselves and our families. Addictions are in full force, because we are trying to get away from pain, disappointment, discouragement.
God loves you, more than you can imagine. He wants to be with you through every moment. Through sorrows, through pain, through joy, through excitement, through discouragement, through miracles. You won't find a life here without circumstances. I don't know a single person who has lived a life free from troubles. Stop worrying about not being good enough, or what your friends might say, or what you've done in the past. One thing I know for an absolute is that God is for you, and never against you. Ask Him into your heart, seek Him, love Him.
Jeremiah 29:11 New International Version (NIV)
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
