Beloved means darling, dear, dearest, precious, adored, much loved, cherished, treasured, prized, highly regarded, admired, esteemed.
So in my head, I knew that I needed to never leave Jesus or be ashamed of him in order for me to be considered Beloved. But that would take action, and I know also that there is nothing that I can do that will earn God's love. God's love is already there, it always has been and there's nothing I can do or say that will take that away. It's absolute.
So one day, during a Bible Study, a gentleman in our church brought up John the Beloved. Of course, I have a passion for this so I listened and he said that he learned that what made John the Beloved was not that Jesus saw him that way, but that John saw himself that way. LIGHT BULB, perspective change! That's it!!! We have to start seeing ourselves as God's beloved. We already are, but the difference is whether we believe it. Now we've just moved from action to faith.
What more does God have to do to prove that you are his beloved. Wasn't the cross enough?
You are His beloved friends...start saying it, believe it. It's truth.
My beloved is mine, and I am his:
