24 “Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world.
25 “Righteous Father, though the world does not know you, I know you, and they know that you have sent me. 26 I have made you[e] known to them, and will continue to make you known in order that the love you have for me may be in them and that I myself may be in them.”
The first thing that catches my eye is that Jesus is clearly pointing out that he is not only praying for his disciples but also for anyone that they witness to that believe the message about Christ. So that prayer still carries true for you today! Did you ever want to really see where Jesus thought about you specifically in the Bible...here it is!
Jesus is praying what we call "kingdom" prayers here. He is calling down heaven and loosing it on earth. In heaven there will be complete unity and Jesus is praying for that model for earth. First thing I think is..."wow, look at the world, how is that even possible"? Then I remember, he is God...he can make all things new! All things...including all those things you deem as hopeless. I want you to consider this... someone like me with sometimes wavering faith did not pray this prayer. God did.... if God prayed it...don't you believe that it has to happen? I mean God spoke it...it's going to happen!
I love reading the heart of Christ. It is absolutely beautiful! Keep in the word my friends...God guides the way!
Thanks for doing my morning bible study with me. My your day be blessed and may you receive the truth and grace that comes from every word of Christ. In Jesus name.
Amen
