This weekend my dear friend called to share a testimony with me. He explained that a gentleman, who I will call "Sam". (not his real name) had come into the church after Friday breakfast and shared several amazing testimonies with them. The reason my friend called to share this with me is that my husband and I have been extremely hungry to see healing, miracles and God moving and we've been locking arms in prayer with the rest of the church to be lights and pray earnestly for people to be set free. Several testimonies grabbed a hold of me this day, and to be honest I was a little on the jealous side that my friend got to witness these amazing acts of God. I'm not sure why I'm always surprised, however, because things like this happen in our church all the time. I think it's simply because we are so hungry to see God take over our services that He welcomes the invite and comes on in. Anyway back to the story.
"Sam" shared with my Pastor friend, that he had a dream that he had to get a hold of someone he didn't know. He had to pray with them. He had no idea how to get a hold of him, he had no phone number, no address, no location, no internet. He told God, listen I know I can find, (we will call him "George") on Facebook and if you want me to find him I will. "Sam's" phone did not have internet, but that day for whatever reason, it did, and he found "George", and he messaged him, "call me." Usually a message like that would prompt a fight in that group of people, but "George" called him. Shaken and a little unsure, and just saved himself, he said, "listen I had a dream....and God said to call you." He shared a little more and "George" on the other end of the phone began to cry and said yes, he needed that call.
Later, "Sam" went to his home church and his Pastor there said "Sam", "You got a hold of "George" just in time. "Sam" was in awe...how could the Pastor have known?
I thought about this testimony all weekend, and I thought how hungry I was to see God move. It's hard jumping on Facebook and seeing so many of your loved ones hurting and you know the answer is Christ, but you can't seem to reach them because everyone has their own ideas about what the answer is.
I walked into church today and was excited to see the friend I prayed for a few months earlier there and he had a friend with him. I shook their hands, and I got excited because I knew God was going to do something amazing today....
After an outstanding worship, and some amazing downloads from God (I will share them another day) Our Senior Pastor asked Pastor Kirk to give testimony of the man that came in during breakfast on Friday. "Sam" The testimonies began and Pastor laid out some amazing foundational background for us to follow. Next he got to the story of "Sam" that was to call someone he didn't know, "George" to share Christ with him....he started to share the story with the real names, and I happened to notice that the man I prayed with just a few short months before began to weep. I knew there was a connection, but I had no idea what.
The testimony ended with the Pastor telling "Sam" "You reached "George" "just in time". You see the background on this is that "George" had taken his own life, recently, and because of the obedience of this Friday morning visitor, "Same" he had contacted him to share Jesus....just in time.
Our Senior Pastor noticed my friend in the congregation weeping and said, "I can see that story touched you, do you want to share why."
All my friend could say, through his thankful sobs was "George" was my friend"...
What are the chances....
