We seem to have a way of holding on to certain memories in our heads. Some happy, some not so happy. If I were to ask you to give me 3 major moments in your life that you can instantly remember, what would they be?
Name them:
1)
2)
3)
I don't want you to continue reading my blog until you've defined them...so don't try to read ahead.
For me, my three moments were very painful. Hard to remember, difficult to deal with, perhaps, they probably haven't actually been dealt with but one and that one not fully. In everything I do, I approach it with these 3 defining moments in my life that caused these three reactions:
1) Rejection
2) Addictions
3) Betrayal
If you've known me long enough, you've probably encountered these things in my reactions towards you at some time. These three things that I wrote down can be defined in the definition of my name. It is who Angela is, it is what has made her, her past has created her, her past has defined her.
But God, in all his love, grace, mercy, compassion and loyalty, through all the past has done to you and me has given us a new name and a new definition. Perhaps you are one of the lucky ones that has accepted these names given to you already. Perhaps when you wrote down your name, you wrote down memories that were quite the opposite, memories of success, love, and joy. In that case, spread your wings and give someone hope. Your past does not define you, and the sooner you realize that it did not weaken you, it strengthened you the sooner your new name can be defined:
1) Redeemed
2) Victorious
3) Loved
