I've often wondered if God cares if we have an education, or lots of money, nice cars, name brand clothes, cool purses, credit cards full of debt, or a high status careers.
What if God doesn't care about any of that?
What would we look like if we were more concerned about how God saw our hearts, instead of our worldly possessions? What kind of people would we be?
I recently asked myself... even though I've pursued God for over 10 yrs now, "How does one grow closer to God?" The answer I believe is to rely less on what the world says about you and to find out what God says about you. Then...we have to accept that God doesn't see us as the world does.
What if told you that your education, your house, your car, you clothes and your status is probably at the bottom of God's priority list. What if I told you that God doesn't choose you by those things either? What if I told you that God uses people strictly by their hearts?
I think about all the poor people who couldn't keep up with the Jones's if they tried. Those that couldn't afford an education and become high paying Dr.'s and Lawyers, although they are probably ever as intelligent. I think about those that feel like they are worthless because someone told them so based on their social status, their ability, or their looks.
What would happen if these people found out that God thinks they are irreplaceable. That he chooses them based on their heart and works in them in greater ways than they could possibly think or imagine?
Don't believe me? Just read about how David, the Sheppard became King. David wasn't even considered by people, matter of fact, he was forgotten, by even his family. They were ashamed of him. All David was good for is watching their sheep.... But God saw him as King.
