I was so overwhelmed with the picture I was given today. Christian Outreach was celebrating their 20th year in ministry in this church. With people from all over who had invested their lives, their tears, their joys and their sins with each other. I'm blessed and thankful I was adopted in this family...the family of Christ. I didn't always belong here and I certainly didn't live life like I do now.
A church started by Pastor Fearing, led by Jesus, l watched as the worship team filled the room with an amazing atmosphere of Christlike singing and dancing. (see the videos on Facebook, WisdomForInspiredLiving) Everything was perfect and the earth was being shook by heavenly messengers. This is what happens when you take generations of people with one purpose. Sharing Jesus and filling their unique purpose.
Three members stepped into leadership today. A Pastor, and two licensed to do ministry. As I looked over the worship team, I noticed something that was so intentional. The Ordained Pastor, had his Mother and Father along side him, both heavily rooted in Christ, lifting up and edifying their son. The son, had married a very solidly foundational Christian woman, who by the way, was one being licensed for ministry, and her family were both surrounding her. Both her mother and father strongly rooted in Christ and edifying their daughter. This couples daughter came and stood by me and I couldn't help but get excited over the fact that she was already strongly rooted into Christ and the support team she had behind her. The other licensed in Ministry was also surrounded by strongly rooted parents, both Mother and Father solidly supported this man and edified him. This man had also chosen a strongly rooted Christian wife, who's Mother and Father was also strongly rooted in Christ and edifying her.
I thought about my own family....I didn't get to start life out like that. For me, it was a whole different world. But I was adopted into this family. Yet, I would not know that I'm adopted. It doesn't really matter what your past looks like, what matters is that you can start this foundation in your own family if you've never had one, or you can be guaranteed that if you are rooted in a Christian home, it is for the benefit of your children to remain. Instead of leaving behind a broken home, drugs and alcohol, a confusion of sexual relationships, leave behind a legacy of Christ. A foundation that cannot be broken.
The worship team sang about how the anchor held firm in spite of the storms. The anchor referred to Christ. There are storms of all sorts in in every family. Christians are no different than non believers when it comes to trials, these people shared their struggle stories, their pains, their sins... But those families that refused to let go to the anchor of Christ, set a success story up for not only themselves, but their children, and every future generation, that no enemy can break.
Thank you God for foundational blessings, and thank you God for teaching me to be a part of it.
