Revelation Chapter 2
PLANTING SEEDS: (Truth) Truth can only be found in God’s word. People can share their opinion on truth, which I am going to do with you in a moment during my “Coffee Cup Counseling” section but I encourage you to personally start getting into the word and studying scripture. It will open up a brand new perspective and new life for those that take the time to begin or rekindle their relationship with God.
Scripture Discussion: Revelation Chapter 3
COFFEE CUP COUNSELING: (My Personal Perspective)
This is just my personal experience or perspective with scripture. By discussing out loud with one another, it allows us accountability for our thoughts and gives us an opportunity to interact with one another to give testimony on how scripture is or has personally changed our lives. When I do our family study, I believe it’s important to hear from each person in my family, because if we are just listening and not personally applying scripture to our own lives, what is the point of studying scripture together? Now, I will go first and then I want to hear from you next!
I love how Jesus addresses each church with some sort of attribute of himself that each church can recognize, so they know that it is in deed Jesus who sends the messages.
A couple things stand out to me during this reading.
1) There is a debate through out the Christian community as to whether Christians will be raptured pre-tribulation, mid-tribulation, or post-tribulation. I’ve heard discussion from all sides of those opinions and I’ve heard stern arguments and disagreements from Christians in this regards. When I read v10 it appears to me that they are all right. It appears to me that since Jesus says he will spare “some” that means, some will not have to endure what is about to take place. However, because he uses the word “some” that would not mean “all”. Therefore, it would be my understanding that it would depend on if we listen and repent, or if we stay stubborn and hard-hearted as to if we must walk it out.
2) The next thing that stands out to me, is although I can take something out of each warning and praise that Jesus gives each church, my spirit connects the US with the instruction of the church of Ladeocia. You see, we are a very rich nation. We have what we would call poor people, but even the poor people in the US compared to 3rd world poor, are well cared for whether we see it or not. We all have access to clean water and food and shelter. Our country is one of the finest in the world, yet, because we are in abundant wealth, we depend and base God’s love on us, by that financial success. Unfortunately, because of our greed and our complacency, we don’t see our need for Christ, and many of us will be deceived by money. I love that God opens up a window to see that.
So let’s get into God’s word, speak truth and set the captives free.
MEDITATION & DISCUSSION:
Please take this time to journal your thoughts on this scripture. I might be the one who initiated this study, but it would be pointless without your participation. I encourage you to personally share your insight, testimony, thoughts, questions with me below on my YouTube Channel at Angela Serocki or on my blog at www.wisdomforinspiredliving.com, or keep it for your own personal journal.
SHARE WITH A FRIEND:
Studies indicate that if we share what we have learned with someone else within 24 hours of being taught, the chances of it remaining in our memory and heart is increased. If you have had a friend, relative, or anyone come to mind while reading this blog, please share this with them! You can text it, post it to Social Media, Discuss it at Bible Study, you can subscribe to my YouTube Channel at Angela Serocki or print today’s study from my wisdomforinspiredliving.com blog, invite a friend to have coffee and discuss!
