Read todays Scripture here: John 17:6-19
Jesus says that his believers will have to remain in the world, and it sounds like they will be in a bit of danger. Doesn't always mean danger from those around them, but more specifically always in danger of the enemy or Satan. It's a battle in life, we are all in agreement of that, and we are all searching and seeking for something to satisfy what we need.
What about the need to have someone continually validate you in relationships? Failed marriages, adulterous relationships, the need of approval, what do you suppose you are looking for? God's love?
What about the addictions, the drugs, the alcohol, the poor choices that come along with it, the hurt it causes other people, what do you suppose you are looking for? God's forgiveness?
What about the workaholics, those that put in lots of time at the office to impress those around them, those that are constantly getting new things to impress others, the financial debt, the need for more, what do you suppose they are looking for? God's acceptance and grace?
The prayer that Jesus speaks over his believers is beautiful. If you are a believer, make sure that you read the words very slowly and let the prayer soak into your soul. Hear what Christ is praying over you and than agree to accept it.
